Why is it that most Magicians use card tricks in their act? Did they start out entertaining in Gambling Dens and Casinos? Or is it that the ‘card sharps’ had to learn magic card tricks in order to cheat at Poker?

Whatever the reason, Card Tricks are an essential part of any Magician’s performance. Some require difficult sleight-of-hand techniques, most just need you to distract your audience while you ‘do the deed’, many can be done in full view. A few need gimmicked decks or pre-prepared decks in order to work.

The marked deck is a rarity these days; after all, who needs to remember 52 different secret markings, all small enough to go unnoticed by the audience? Far easier to ‘force’ your victim to pick a specific card (she thinks she had free choice, but we know better!) then ‘control’ the card to the top or bottom of the deck where it sits until you magically produce it.

A favourite technique of mine (called; the Glimpse) is to openly look at the card (this becomes the ‘Key card’) above the selected card as the victim replaces it in the pack; all I have to do then is find that card and I know that the one below it is the selected card. Simple. The victim, and the rest of the audience, were all concentrating on the return of the selected card to the deck and didn’t notice me tilt the top half of the deck so that the underside of the card was visible. A few cuts then make it look as if the card is mixed up in the deck (a cut rarely splits the two cards that you want to keep together, but to be sure, Glimpse the bottom card after the last cut – if it is your Key Card, cut once more) and I then deal the pack onto the table until I see the card I viewed earlier. A nice twist is to carry on past the selected card, dealing say, another 3 cards before stopping and announcing “the next card I turn over will be the one you selected.” The victim gleefully disagrees – you can take bets on it if you want – and then you reach over to the selected card and turn that one over.

There are lots of card tricks you can learn easily that can be found at many dedicated magic websites. Many magic card tricks are offered free at these sites and are easy to learn. If you want to impress your friends in the bar or at the party, learn some magic card tricks and you will always be in demand!

Wonderful Origami Money Tricks For Pleasure And Delight

Performing tricks with paper money is a pretty intriguing thing to be able to do. The promise are limitless when it comes to doing magic with dollar bills. You can accomplish pretty much everything, and make an impact on a whole variety of people when you be taught these impressive skills.

Many times this involves that very old Japanese art of origami, or folding paper. You take a standard dollar bill, and through delicate manipulation of the bill itself, you can change it into a diversity of exhilarating shapes, such as a vessel, a bird, or even a frog. The sky is the boundary, and you are only inhibited by your creativity and imagination.

And then there are the sleight of hand money tricks, where you can make money vanish, resurface, pull coins out of children ears, and so on. These are likely the most admired dollar bill and coin magic tricks. Many believe they have their roots in the primordial Egyptians, as capital to them was considered sacred. There’s one in particular that I’ll divide with you.

Here’s the basic substance of the trick. The goal is to make individuals believe you are holding three one dollar bills, then you speak the magic word, and one of them disappears. Foremost acquire as single dollar bill, and crease the top halfway down.

After that stash it anywhere where nobody can see it.
Subsequently you place another bill in front of it, and crease it the similar way. Then you divide them, so it appears like you have the edges of three bills, while in reality all you have is two.

How you accomplish the actual “reveal,” or the part that you show the spectators that you in fact only have two bills while they figured you had three, is up to you.

Some people like to make a big deal of it holding the money to their cranium and pretending to project supernatural force to it.
Still others like to speak a magic sound, and then spank the bills, abruptly transforming what was thought to be three into two. Either way, you are sure to have plenty of fun with this easy trick.

How To Do Magic Tricks

There is a famous magic trick with the effect of a handkerchief suddenly appearing in a decanter. We might try a similar invention right now, using that decanter trick as the basis. At random, we substitute a photograph for the handkerchief. This substitution suggests a frame in which it may appear. We must have a place in which to hide the picture prior to its appearance. A hollow back immediately comes to mind. The picture could be rolled up in one edge of the frame as well.

To meet modern conditions we might borrow the indirect method of applying the power to pull the thread. Spinning the frame, as Orrin spins the web, would do. The frame might be mounted, spinning around vertically. Or it might spin from back to front, horizontally, on a shaft extending from side to side. Of course, we could spin it as the web is turned.

The thread is attached to the picture. This is brought into view as the frame turns. Some experiment might be necessary to determine the best hiding place. More experiment will determine the proper type of rotation. Other details, such as insuring that the picture will not be caught, construction to insure smooth passage, stiffness of the picture stock and other’ matters will develop the best general plan.

But you do not necessarily have to spin the frame. You may, instead, merely secure a thread of the proper length to some convenient fastening-a chair or a piece of apparatus-and walk forward quickly, holding the frame in front of you with both hands. The picture will appear in a bewildering fashion.

Or go back to the milk bottle. Use that instead of a decanter. Put it on a turntable. Provide a method of fastening the bottle so it will not fly off. Then spin it. This could cause a handkerchief, a flag, even a flower to appear, pulled into view quickly from a pocket concealed within the turntable top.

The same principle has been applied to non-apparatus magic. The hands are substituted for the decanter. The space behind the vest takes the place of the pocket in the table. The thread still remains. Secured to two corners of a large flag, the thread extends across the top. The flag is folded and tucked beneath the vest, leaving the thread extending across the body. In a flash the flag is produced merely by hooking the thumbs under the thread and extending the arms forward
1000
and apart. Properly done, the flag seems to appear suddenly between the two hands. This may be used for a flash production of almost anything concealed beneath the vest, the coat or within a pocket.

With one end of the thread attached to a firm foundation, just hooking one thumb beneath it and pushing forward suddenly will make it possible to produce a silk, a flower, or some small device with which you work.

Magic tricks are born by imagination. Free your mind. Try whatever inspirations you have in daily life. You could nurture your creativity and become a great magic inventor!

How To Do The Best Magic Tricks
by: Preston Houer

If you are a newbie magician and you want to improve your magic tricks, follow these tips and you are guaranteed to perform magic tricks that will amaze your audience.

Be Natural

The secret in having a great sleight of hand is your naturalness. There should be no hand wagging, no hand waving, jerky or quick motions. You should work naturally, deliberately, and slowly. If you master this, balls, coins, rings, cards, and coins will begin reappearing and disappearing at the tips of your fingers.

Watching your angles

You should be aware of your angles. Angles refer to the sleight lines between the item that you have just palmed off and the eye of your spectators. If you do not have the right angles, the audience could take a glimpse or see the object in your hand and your trick will be caught.

Practice your palming skills wherever you go

The most necessary skill of a man with a great sleight of hand is the ability or skill of palming an object that goes undetected. You could perfect this after some time of practicing palming small objects like coins in your everyday normal routine. You could palm a small object or item in both of your hands or either while writing, eating, watching TV, walking around, or doing other activities. If you practice care about the angles, no one would notice what you are doing, and after some time, what you are now doing self-consciously would later become almost natural to you. From then on, you could be able to palm objects or items more confidently, boldly, and successful each time.

Master your presentation

Practice your presentation. A small trick that is well presented could work wonders even without the most sophisticated of techniques since the audience would most likely relate to your trick or understand it.

What good is a magician if nobody understands or enjoys his or her tricks? The presentations therefore should be straightforward, simple, and understood easily so that your viewers or watchers could understand and enjoy the complete meaning of what you have been saying and doing.

Do not replicate a trick

Do not repeat the same trick for the same viewers or watchers. That is one of the basic rules in doing magic. When you repeat a trick, your audience would immediately know what you are going to do next. What may have been a miracle for you when you did your trick for the first time may not be quite satisfying or dazzling the next time around.

Only a few days left before someone tries to guilt trip you into putting on a stupid costume for a night of Halloween festivities. I can hear you groaning already. But fear not, here’s the insider’s guide to a fantastic DIY Halloween costume that is easy, inexpensive and memorable. It may even have you looking forward to the holiday for once!

Here are a few simple ideas to get you the “best dressed” award on October 31st:

Brain Donor: Get a simple hospital gown or bathrobe. Draw black circles under your eyes and wrap your head in gauze with some fake blood dripping down. Get a clear jar, put small amount of water in the jar with some cauliflower. On the front of the jar put a big label that says “Brain Donor.” Or just carry the cauliflower and have a “Brain Donor” tag on your gown.

Nudist on Strike: Probably the easiest costume to put together on short notice. Wear whatever you want and create a picket sign that says, “Nudist on Strike.” Trust me, they’ll laugh.

Little Dead Riding Hood: Have the red cape/sheet and basket but then add fake scars, gashes and blood to make it look like the Big Bad Wolf got you.

iPod commercial: Dress in all black, and use black make-up to darken your skin. Strap a piece of fluorescent poster board to your back. Wear an iPod and dance your buns off. (See example)

Attack Dog Trainer: Take a stuffed dog and sew it to the arm of a long-sleeved shirt so it looks like it is biting you. Wear a name tag (“Jim’s Attack Dog School). Add blood and scratches all over your body.

Chick Magnet: Attach Barbie dolls or other inexpensive dolls all over yourself.

Kissing Booth: Construct a booth using two boxes, with the opening of the top box facing forward. Add straps so the boxes sit on your shoulders. Spray paint the boxes white and then use red paint to write “Kisses $1″ and “Kissing Booth” on them. Remember pockets to hold your income!

Miss Conception: Great for those who find themselves pregnant on Halloween. Get an old prom dress and fix up your hair and make-up like you’re a beauty contestant. Use your pregnant belly or place a pillow under the dress to make yourself look pregnant. Add a sash across your chest that says “Miss Conception.” Smile and wave! Why not get creative with this idea? I’m thinking Miss Demeanor, Miss Chievous, Miss Fortunate, Miss Erable, you get the idea)

God’s Gift to Women: Find a box large enough to fit around your body. Cut some holes for your arms and head, and then cover the box with wrapping paper. Add a large bow. Attach a tag that says “TO: Women, FROM: God.” You could also just wrap yourself in a white sheet with a big bow around your middle and the gift tag hanging from your neck.

Devil’s Advocate: Wear buttons and carry signs that say “Devil is #1″ and “Vote for Satan,” etc.

Refrigerator Magnet: Paint a shoe box black and attach it to your back.

So what’s your excuse? With costumes this simple and creative you have no excuse not to look fabulous on Halloween.

Verizon – AT&T “Price War” May Cost You – Yahoo! News

Customers of Verizon and AT&T–the two largest wireless service providers in the United States, accounting for the vast majority of mobile service users–have reason to celebrate! Both wireless providers have announced price cuts in what appears to be the beginning of a price war. Don't uncork the champagne just yet, though. The losers of this war may be the customers.

It's like a stage magician trick. You are so focused on the hand showing you cards and making grand gestures that you don't pay attention to the other hand. Then, Voila! The deck of cards turns into a dove and everyone is amazed.

The price “cuts” are actually more of a price “realignment” in a sort of pricing sleight-of-hand that allows both Verizon and AT&T to capture headlines with announcements of price cuts, while actually boosting revenue in the process.

Verizon and AT&T both cut the price of their unlimited voice plans, bringing the combined cost of unlimited voice and unlimited data to under $100. AT&T followed the unlimited voice price cut by eliminating the Nation 1350 plan which provided 1350 voice minutes per month plus unlimited data for $110 per month.

For some, the price cuts will actually result in lower bills, or getting more voice, data, or text messaging for the same money. Don't be fooled into thinking that it's a real price war, though, or that either wireless provider is being charitable or altruistic in any way.

The cuts in voice pricing were offset with new data plan requirements. Customers with mid-grade phones–feature phones that have data capabilities, but aren't really smartphones–will now be required to purchase data plans in conjunction with the voice service. The net result is more revenue flowing in to Verizon and AT&T from customers who didn't want the data plan and are unlikely to get much use out of it.

Stop and think about the “unlimited” voice plan anyway. The “unlimited” concept is equivalent to those all-you-can-eat buffet chains. They charge you ten dollars for food that is mediocre at best under the premise that you can eat as much of it as you want. However, because the food quality is low and it is prepared in large quantities, very few people can ever hope to achieve actually eating their money's worth.

Both Verizon and AT&T already offer free calls between the 80 million-plus other subscribers on their own networks. They also both offer unlimited free calls on nights and weekends. Both providers also offer calling circles on certain voice plans that allow you to place unlimited free calls to any five numbers of your choosing. For AT&T customers, you can add in the fact that unused minutes roll over to the next month.

I will go out on a limb and say that the vast majority of wireless customers already call other customers on their same network, or frequently talk on nights and weekends, and that any calls that don't fit those criteria will fit comfortably into the calling circle. Basically, for 99.999 percent of wireless customers, any plan with a calling circle was already “unlimited” for all intents and purposes.

So, let's not give Verizon and AT&T too much credit here. First, they matched each other's pricing, which is more of a price stalemate than a price war. Second, even after the price cuts, neither of them are as cost effective as plans that have already been available from Sprint or T-Mobile.

Print Story: 21 Things We're Learning to Live Without – Yahoo! News

What do you really need?

It's become a national question. With jobs and money scarce, consumers are taking inventory and tossing lots of stuff once deemed important into a humongous discard pile. To safeguard the essentials–a safe home and supportive community, the kids' education, Internet connectivity, sustenance for a pet–Americans are giving up lots of other things. Some sacrifices are painful; others bring surprise benefits.

To gauge America's changing priorities, I synthesized market research, business trends, economic data, and reports from hundreds of consumers into a list of things that many people seem to be significantly cutting back on, or living without completely. Here are 21 of them:

[Slide Show: 21 Things We're Learning to Live Without.]

Monthly payments. Old mentality: I don't care about the price, as long as I can borrow to pay for it and I have enough income to cover the monthly payment. New mentality: I've already got too much debt, and the banks won't lend me the money anyway. Result: More cash purchases and a lot less financing of cars, furniture and other costly items. “The era of unbridled, debt-financed consumer spending is over, and the monthly payer is out of action,” Eric Janszen, president of iTulip, a finance-advisory firm, wrote in Harvard Business Review last year.

Window shopping. Browsing used to be an acceptable pastime. But consumers have discovered that window shopping encourages them to buy tons of stuff they don't need. So now, they're shopping only when necessary, making a list and sticking to it, or skipping the mall in favor of online sites, where temptations are weaker. “I no longer spend a day at the mall when I'm bored,” says Debby Abrams of Rising Sun, Ind. “I don't buy, rebuy, and rebuy again: Buy a lamp, buy one I like better and put the first one in the basement, then buy a third one and put the second one in the basement.”

[See 4 Things That Could derail a Recovery.]

Bells and whistles. The technology arms race is slowing, with consumers gravitating to simpler gizmos like Netbooks, prepaid cellphones, and older, used electronics. Shaving features is obviously a way to save money, but some users also find the simpler devices a relief. “My cellphone is back to being just a phone and not my connection to the rest of the world via texting or the Web,” says Dorothy Robson of Durham, N.C. “Simplicity is definitely the new thing. Now if we can get the government to be frugal, that would be great!”

Clutter. As Americans downsize, do more of their own cleaning, and look for stuff they can sell online, they're discovering tons of things around the house they can get rid of. After Russ and Deborah Merchant of Delaware, Ohio, moved into a smaller rental home in 2007, they dug out hundreds of items they had never used and didn't need. For a year, they gave away more stuff than they purchased. “We keep being amazed at how having less stuff, with no deprivation, actually gives us better quality of life,” says Deborah Merchant. “We've gained emotional and spiritual maturity.”

[Has cutting back made your life better? Tell us how: flowchart@usnews.com.]

Cable TV. Many people are cutting back on pay-TV services or canceling them altogether, which saves $50 to $100 a month. As a replacement, some viewers watch free programs on Hulu or YouTube or make do with broadcast TV. Others are giving up television completely. “There's no money for cable TV, so my Internet does me for all my news and other entertainment,” says Mariluna Martin of Los Angeles. “That's money saved, plus no TV means no blaring of bad news, fear-mongering, ad pressures, and other unpleasantness.” Martin spends more time reading books and sipping tea at a neighborhood café. She finds that rewarding: “The changes I've had to make have made my life better. Things are simpler and healthier now.”

A home phone. How many phones do you need, anyway? With cellphones ubiquitous, the home unit is becoming redundant. Internet voice services like Skype and magicJack slash the cost of calls but still provide most of the services that are available through the phone lines. Many people are reducing their cellphone service as well. Kathy Bowman of Joseph, Ore., figures she's saving about $800 per year since she replaced her cellphone with a prepaid Tracfone she mainly reserves for emergencies. Canceling a fax line to her home saves another $120 per year.

Privacy. Got room on the couch? To save on rent or mortgage payments, roommates are doubling up and grown kids are moving back in with their parents. Mark Hamister of Elyria, Ohio, says privacy is one of the many things he's given up as two of his grown daughters have moved back home, bringing boyfriends, pets–and a granddaughter. But he's not complaining. “We have learned to enjoy a simple, cost-effective, and minimalist approach to life by developing an appreciation for nature and family,” he says. “Big, expensive toys and trips were fun before, but we really don't need them anymore.”

[See 17 Ways Consumers Are Changing.]

Prepared foods. More people are cooking at home, and they're doing it with fewer premade sauces, marinades, dressings, and other ingredients. “Moms are back to basic cooking,” says Chance Parker, a market researcher at J.D. Power & Associates. “They want to use fresh herbs and spices. It saves money, and it's more healthy.” Patricia Tremblay of Dayton, Ohio, has given up her microwave as she's cut back over the last two years. She now cooks instead of zapping a premade entrée. “I've traded convenience for choice and done well, with the added bonus of weight loss and a sense of accomplishment,” she says. “It's a great beginning that seems likely to stick.”

Tupperware parties. Sales of Tupperware and other storage products are up, since people are cooking at home more and husbanding leftovers. But consumers still want the best deal, and they're skeptical of merchants–even if it's a friend or neighbor. “I flatly refuse to go to any 'home parties' where the hostess is selling candles, plastic ware, etc., and she gets free merchandise,” says Lois Barber of Sandy Hook, Conn. “The stuff costs about three times what you would pay retail. My blanket excuse is, 'My sister sells it.' “

Packaged cigarettes. The average price of cigarettes is about $5 a pack or $45 a carton, which mounts quickly for regular puffers. Kicking the habit is the most obvious way to save money, but short of that, more smokers are buying small machines that let them roll their own smokes. “We learned to make our own cigs with a machine that cost $40,” says one smoker. “We now save around $120 a month.”

Lattes. The $5 daily coffee is always one of the first small luxuries to go. But more people are brewing at home. Sales of single-serving home brewing machines have soared.

Guilt. Keeping up with all the latest trends and technology takes an emotional toll. “When I could afford it, I always felt pressured to buy the latest software and gadgets,” says Kathryn Husby of Plantation, Fla. When job and health issues curtailed the family income, she and her husband cut back to bare necessities. That meant she didn't have to learn a new set of buttons or menu options every year; she just kept pressing the same familiar buttons on the old model. “I'm happier than I've been for many years,” she says. “I feel like I'm in charge of my life instead of multinational corporations telling me what to consume.”

Extra calories. Some Americans say they're eating less to save money and drinking more water or doing other things to suppress their appetite. Restaurants are hurting as people eat out less, but some diners are trimming the check instead of scotching the entire outing. Some strategies for lighter eating: Going out for lunch instead of dinner, sharing entrees, skipping appetizers and side dishes, and turning restaurant leftovers into one or two at-home meals. A few restaurant chains, like Panera Bread, the Olive Garden, and Buffalo Wild Wings, have even managed to gain business by offering high-quality food at slender prices.

Newspapers and magazines. It's bad news for the publishing industry, but millions have canceled subscriptions to print periodicals and started getting free news and information online (which is probably where you're reading this article!). The trend may be strongest among tomorrow's consumers, otherwise known as teenagers: A study by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that kids between 8 and 18 spend just 38 minutes a day with some form of print media, down from 43 minutes in 2004. That's out of a total of 7 hours and 38 minutes they spend every day using some form of media.

Healthcare. A forced reduction in healthcare coverage is probably one of the most crushing effects of a weak economy, as the unemployed and others without insurance make drastic trade-offs to cut costs and get by. Millions of Americans are forgoing doctor visits, abandoning medication, ignoring problems, and simply hoping they don't get seriously ill or hurt. “I don't go to the doctor as often,” says Debby Abrams. “Aches and pains work themselves out. I have some neurological thing going on in my left thumb right now, but I'm going to ignore it and attribute it to aging rather than go to a neurologist.”

New gifts. Regifting is a time-tested practice–but there's always room to refine your strategy. Linda Amicucci of Tenafly, N.J., holds a “treasure party” with a group of friends after Thanksgiving every year to swap recyclable gifts. “We bring all the unwanted, unused items in our house that could be used as gifts or were given to us as gifts throughout the past year,” she explains. “We swap items, since a gift received last year during a grab bag cannot be regifted in the same social circle. But in a different social circle, it's a brand new gift!”

New cars. It's no secret that new-car sales plunged to levels 40 percent lower than the peak in 2006. But many buyers who have traded down to a used model are surprised at the quality of the merchandise. “I have found that many people take really good care of their cars,” says Jay Bailey of Phoenix, who's currently shopping for a used SUV. “You can find cars that have over 100,000 miles that have been maintained so well that you can easily get another 100,000 miles out of them.” Many other car shoppers apparently agree, one reason used-car prices have actually been rising, with some models hard to find.

Comfort. Thermostats all across America are going lower in winter, higher in summer. After losing his job last year, Phil Landry, a Florida software salesman, analyzed his use of utilities, among other things, and decided to shave costs by setting the temp at 86 in the summer. “Every once in awhile I'll lower it to 84,” he says. “But as long as you're not running marathons in the house, 86 is OK.” Carrie Chiarenza, an Army officer who is based at Fort Hood, Texas, and is currently serving a yearlong tour in Iraq, takes supershort “combat showers” when she's at home, and she applies other tricks learned while living in the field. “Never leave any water running if you don't have to,” she says. “So when lathering hair with shampoo, water comes off. Same thing with hand washing. Sometimes the task takes longer, but it helps the environment, and my utility bills.”

A daily commute. If you're unemployed, obviously there's no job to drive to, one reason the number of vehicle miles driven has dipped to 2004 levels (and traffic on some of the most congested highways has eased). Telecommuting increased during the recession as well, and more people say they're riding bikes or walking more to save on gas costs–or a gym membership.

Fancy dates. Online dating services like Match.com are growing, but courtship is a bit of a comedown these days. Discount-dating advisers suggest cooking at home instead of eating out, looking for free performances, browsing at bookstores, going hiking, and exploring yard sales (yes, yard sales). And some discouraged singletons are sitting on the sidelines, waiting for better times. “I am not dating,” says one woman who recently lost her job at a financial firm in San Diego. “Who will want to date an unemployed female?” Still, she says, “I am determined and motivated to survive this recession.” And date again.

Debt. Who needs it? “I have learned that it takes little time to run dangerously high credit card balances,” says Tom Poirer of Lowell, Mass., “but an inordinately long time to pay it back. I have learned to deprogram myself from the consumerist mayhem.” Many Americans seem to agree. Total credit card debt is about 7 percent lower than it was a year ago, and Americans have paid down more than $100 billion in credit card loans and other types of revolving credit since October 2008. We may ultimately end up with less stuff. But at least we'll be able to afford what we have.

Do Schools Of Magic Still Exist?

Actual brick and mortar schools that teach black or white magic (i.e. Harry Potter) are hard to find, if they exist at all…or maybe they are so magical that only witches and warlocks can see them at all.

There are, however, many such schools that exist out there in the magical unknown (the Internet). By using magical seeking (Google), you can levitate their locations into your line of vision (computer screen).

The internet is the best school and the most complete source of information that mankind has ever designed. The World Wide Web puts the knowledge of the ages at our fingertips and that, my friend, is REAL magic.

If you really want to learn to do magic tricks, that information is readily available at the David Blaine web site.

You can purchase videos (another bit of magic, in my opinion) that will show you exactly how to perform the magic tricks that you want to learn. Like achieving success at any school, in order to learn to do these video instructed tricks effectively, you must do your homework…practice, practice, practice.

There really isn’t anything magic about achieving success…whether it is learning to perform a magic trick effectively or land a vehicle on Mars. Success happens because a person is willing to put forth the effort to learn and has the capacity to dream the dream.

Going to school… any school… is only one of three elements required to become successful at magic or anything else. School in any form, whether it is in an actual building or images on a computer screen, will supply knowledge that you can choose to either learn or not learn.

Knowledge is one element of success. Another is a passionate desire for putting that knowledge to use in order to achieve a dream. The third is a commitment that is strong enough to make a person practice until they achieve perfection.

Do you love entertaining your peers, and would like to do so by learning basic magic tricks? Coin Magic Tricks are one of the easiest tricks to learn, thus they are easy magic tricks for kids and novice magicians. All you need is a quick hand and a lot of practice and you can fool your friends in a wink of an eye!

Before attempting coin magic tricks, one must know the basics or you might end up making a total fool of yourself. Here are the magic basics beginners should know before attempting magic in public.

The Sleight of Hand

The Sleight of Hand is a set of techniques and key moves used by magicians in their magic tricks to fool the audience. Here are some of the basic principles:

ՠ Palming – hiding a coin in your palm so it looks empty

ՠ Switching – exchanging the coin from one hand to another

ՠ Ditching – secretly disposing of the coin, such as up your sleeve, when the audience is not looking

ՠ Stealing – secretly acquiring a coin, such as taking a coin hidden on your sleeve and bringing it to your hand when the audience is not looking

ՠ Simulation – Fooling the audience that something just happened, when nothing actually did

ՠ Loading – sneakily moving the coin elsewhere you need it

ՠ Diversion – redirecting audience’s attention, so you can sneakily set up your magic trick.

Try practicing these Sleight of Hand methods again and again until you master it, before proceeding to other more complicated magic tricks such as card tricks or levitation tricks.

It takes some practice and effort to be able to perform coin magic tricks well, but that time spent will definitely be rewarded in your audience’s reaction to your trick. t’s good to learn a few coin tricks to perform in quick succession, that way you won’t risk having people make you perform the same trick again and again, and find out how you’re doing it.

Mark Yarnell Secrets Revealed

Mark Yarnell Who?

Let’s start with who Mark Yarnell is For those that may not know. Mark is an Industry Legend having written more than 4 books and producing audio courses.Mark from an MLM industry stand point is a very well know speaker and a very well established author Facts don’t Lie here folks being in the MLM profession more than 20 years and making over $30 million dollars. This speaks for itself doesn’t it . Also stating that almost 97% fail when entering the MLM industry. Throughout his career in this industry he has written books , produced audio courses , and done live seminars. Being the most recent of his developments is a audio course called”Holy Grail Of Network Marketing.” In this phenomenal course he lays out in front you interview after interview. Mark takes a wide variety of indivduals that earn in excess of $3 million a year in MLMWhich all income has come from prospecting and distributing within their primary opportunities. Mark puts it all on the table and asks what they have done and how did they do it. The answers and interviews are all on audio CD’s. His number one best seller that he wrote is named ” Your First Year In Network Marketing.” He is in the works of even a newer book in which he is calling “The Lotus Code” which will go on to be a best seller as well.

What Has Made This Possible For Mark Yarnell To Stick With MLM over 20 years?

Mark’s career began into this profession over 20 years ago with an opportunity named NuSkin International.Recently Mark has been involved with another company by the name of OxyFresh.

Mark approach on things is that of a person that doesn’t Sugar coat. Him speaking will bring a refreshing feeling to most. His ‘Old School’ aspect is hard for some to take a hold of. But this is simply his style of building his business. You have to love a guy for knowing so much about this industry and laughing at the ways people come out with such unprofessional things over the years. Recently i have listened to many Interviews with Mark Yarnell . This concept of “Duplication” is something i love about him and his concept beneath it.This is straight forward like i said No Sugar Coating it. “He simply says that duplication is
1000
crap”. Everyone preaches it but it is truly impossible for someone to take all the concepts and completely duplicate them.People need to take the tips and strategies and twist them into something useful to them. Or change them just a little to make them work for them. So duplication simply does not work.I also watched another mind peeler type interview by Mark. In this interview he was asked for a new person or new distributor what would he recommend ? On spot direct answer as you would expect and nothing less. “This is the hardest work i have ever been involved in. This reason is exactly why the top producers in the network marketing industry make such extreme amounts of money and so much more than traditional jobs. If you want to succeed in this industry , you need to talk to minimum 30 people a day. Either by trying to sell them something or recruit them into your opportunity. Whether it be leaving them a message or actually talking to them. Minimum 30 people a day.”

This can be a very hard day for many people, If you have ever tryed it could be a your worst day. Especially if you are the type of person that doesn’t like to talk on the phone or doesn’t have very good people skills. Some hate it and some love it .For those people just starting out finding this time working a full time job can be an extreme struggle. However, this is something that Mark loves to do. He has polished his skills over the years and gone on to love this part.Mark is the country type, no beat around the bush just here have it. This is something about a person i tend to enjoy.

As i said before mark has older techniques he uses. To build his empire he does use some older techniques and tricks but they have worked great. Still today these techniques are still used and can work great, just much more modern strategies can be faster and easier. Especially for someone just beginning He also in many interviews explains how someone needs to stick with their core values. What he means by this and is very much worth mentioning is.He says,” Would you recruit your mother into your MLM business.” For any company you find MLM or otherwise it is about finding absolute value. You need to find it to be something you believe in and it meets your core values. If it is not something you truly believe in then in some way down the line this will sabotage your success in one way or another. If it is something that you believe in you can lead with honesty and integrity. Key factor to abundance and success for your company .

Mark Yarnell is a from the heart Master at building a huge empire in the MLM industry. The truth and the facts tell all truthfully. Mark does use some old strategies to build his companies. I think a good approach in the MLM industry would be a combination of Mark Yarnell’s methods or secrets with combining online marketing methods as well.

We talked about this earlier and Mark also said “duplication” from an exact stand point doesn’t work. It comes down to take the approach of all the things you learn and use key elements that need to be in place and make it your own. This is what will make you a leader and a success. However, the telephone in conversions and closing a sale is still a much needed ability. Although, to build your empire at a much faster and much simpler way you need to integrate technology based strategies. So having the integration of both methods working to your benefit will be like magic for your business.

If you would like to learn more about how to integrate both strategies into your business. Using Mark Yarnell training guidelines as well as modern techniques. You can get FREE training on how to use these techniques and become a top producer in your company.

Few things impress people as much as seeing a well performed Magic Trick – especially when it is done without apparatus or preparation. Mentalism is one of the more impressive types of Magic Trick and the one I’m about to reveal is so easy to learn that you’ll be performing it tomorrow! Or even tonight!

There are two important rules for learning Magic Tricks -

1. Practice before you perform. Get it right. Work out your patter and learn it off by heart.

2. NEVER tell your audience how it was done!

To learn this Magic Trick you only need to remember a few things and develop a ‘patter’; a way to perform it.

You have an audience of at least six, preferably a dozen – though it could be performed for as many as you like – provided you can give them all paper and pencils. You tell them that you are going to project your thoughts into their minds.

They must write down the thought as soon as you tell them to – write down the first thing that comes into their head, without trying to think about it (transmitted thought is fragile and too much of their own brain activity will wipe it out).

“We’ll start,” you tell them, “with an easy one. Get ready to write it down … a single digit number; a number between 1 and 9 – NOW!”

You write on your piece of paper; the number 7.

“Now we’ll try a word. What I want you to write this time, is the name of … a vegetable – NOW!”

You write on your piece of paper; the word CARROT.

“Another word. This time I want you to write down the name of … an animal that lives in the jungle – NOW!”

You write on your piece of paper; the word LION. (Trust me; I know they don’t live in the jungle, but this works!)

“Let’s go back to numbers. This time it is a 2 digit number with two different digits (i.e. not 11 or 22). I want you to write down an odd number between … 10 and 50 – NOW!”

You write on your piece of paper; the number 37

“OK. One more number. Again a 2 digit number, an even number with 2 different digits. I want you to write down an even number between … 50 and 99 – NOW!”

You write on your piece of paper; the number 68.

When everyone has written their last number, you display your paper and get them to compare their answers. More than half the answers will match your ‘prediction’.

Well, not everyone is receptive to thought transference, and for those that are, it is an intermittent thing and they will not receive every thought accurately. Those that thought too much before writing it down may have scrambled the transmitted thought.

Do not repeat this trick for the same audience – when they find you are using exactly the same numbers and words each time, they will smell a rat!

In fact most people under the given conditions will come up with those numbers and words. Why? Dunno. Must be the way the human mind is wired.

Note. When doing the 2 digit numbers, always pause where I put in the 3 dots – as this helps to clear their minds of any number they were thinking of up to that point; they don’t know what you are going to say next, so it blanks the mind.

If you decide only to use the numbers, I would do the single digit last. When you’ve just written down ‘7′, being told to write a 2 digit number, you are going to avoid using 7 again. Moving the 7 to the last slot means there is 68 between it and 37.

To learn this Magic trick all you have to remember is 3 numbers and 2 words. Easy isn’t it? Your victims – sorry, audience – will be spell-bound with amazement.

There are many Magic Tricks you can learn that are just as easy as this to perform and just as impressive. My own preference is for Magic tricks that can be performed with borrowed objects so that the audience doesn’t suspect that you are using special gimmicks – even though, often, you are.

Magician begins with showing two empty hands. Then picked up a matchbox and empty the matches in front of the audiences. Push back the inside-box into the shell. Put a small coin on the matchbox, cast a handkerchief on it, once again explained that his hands are empty. Call out: “go!” And then pinch the handkerchief with his hands, respectively adjacent to two corners off the handkerchief. Oh my gosh! No coin was found on the matchbox but it was found a coin in the box.

The Secret Trick: Secretly prepared an empty matchbox, includes a coin between the inner-box and the shell (in other words, between the two sub-folders). Then push the inner-box about 2 mm forwards.

During the performance, use your left thumb (top) and index finger (bottom) to pinch the matchbox and the coin. Use your right thumb and index finger to withdraw the inner-box in the other end. As the coins in situ did not move, so the audiences see the box as empty.

Now push the inner-box back into the shell. The coin will fall into the box. Then open the matchbox, the coin would of course appear. No one knows that the coin located on top of the matchbox is another preparation. In advance, wipe the central of the handkerchief with some soap. When you place the handkerchief on, press the soap onto the coin. Bring up the handkerchief with both hands by pinching its corners. Because the coin stained with the handkerchief, the coin on the matchbox disappeared.
